I remember the day I found out I was going to become an aunt. I was so excited to get promoted to this new role, but what was even more exciting was the idea that I’d someday get to bring my nephew to Universal Orlando Resort theme parks, that I work at and love so much.
I have two nephews, Noah, who’s 5 years old, and Luke, who’s 1. One of my fondest memories of bringing my nephew Noah to the park was when he was finally tall enough for his first ride. My sister and I looked at each other with tears in our eyes at the thought that he was finally able to experience our favorite attractions in the park.
This is a very special episode for me as I was able to bring my sister and her family to both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure to experience a full day with David and Kari, so the hosts could see Universal Orlando Resort through the eyes of a kid.
This day was so much fun. We started in the Radio Broadcast Center mapping out which rides we planned on doing for the day before venturing out to start our adventure.
The second we walked out of the studio, we got to meet various characters from around Universal Studios Florida. They played with both Noah and Luke and took time to give them a special moment.
Our first ride was E.T. Adventure, where we soared in the sky and got to hear E.T. say our name. We then went to the next alien adventure on Men in Black: Alien Attack, where Noah helped us get a high score.
One of the highlights of our day was experiencing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley, where Noah visited Ollivanders Wand Shop and had a wand choose him for the very first time. It was truly one of the most magical experiences I’ve had in a long time.
After performing spells around the land, we had lunch at the Leaky Cauldron. We then took the Hogwarts Express over to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade where we rode Flight of the Hippogriff.
We then strolled over to Jurassic Park and went into Jurassic Park Discovery Center where we got to see a baby raptor hatch! After seeing life find a way, we went over Camp Jurassic, where we got to ride one of Noah’s favorite rides, Pteranodon Flyers. This was a highlight for the group since it’s an attraction you need a kid to ride on — especially for Kari, since it was her very first time on it.
This episode also features my sister talking about some of the benefits and best ways for parents to tackle the parks. It was such an incredible day! Experiencing the theme parks with kids really gives you a new perspective of our theme parks.
