Did somebody say, “Chocolate”? Yeah, actually; I think it was the chefs at The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen in Universal CityWalk. Frankly, all they ever do is talk about chocolate, but this time around, there’s a special reason why.
National Chocolate Day is soon (October 28), and at Toothsome it’s better and more chocolatey than ever! Celebrate it with us from October 25–31 with six new, one-of-a-kind dishes. Fixing your forks on every single one is a must!
What’s on the National Chocolate Day Menu?
This National Chocolate Day at Toothsome is all about surf and turf — and a little bit of dessert, too. That doesn’t sound very fitting of such a sweet holiday, I know, but when you see what these chefs put together, you wouldn’t want to have this celebration any other way!
Chocolate Crusted Blackened Halibut
When I look at a piping hot plate of blackened halibut, I feel like it’s always missing something. Chocolate, perhaps? No worries — Toothsome has that base covered! The savory Chocolate Crusted Blackened Halibut is enhanced with arugula, frisée, apples, feta brûlée, dried cranberries, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, white chocolate balsamic vinaigrette and white chocolate-crushed roasted almond brittle.
Beef Bourguignon
No stew hits the spot quite as well as Beef Bourguignon does, and the one at Toothsome hits even harder with its decadent hints of chocolate. This hearty dish is served with a sweet potato pavé, broiled broccolini and a chocolate-mushroom velouté that’s everything you’ve been craving and more.
White Chocolate & Coconut Lobster
National Chocolate Day is a day to celebrate all chocolates — including white chocolate! The best way to do so is by ordering the White Chocolate & Coconut Lobster. Made with preserved lemon, blistered tomatoes, leeks, garlic, shallots, gnocchi, caviar and parmesan cheese, this dish is sure to get you in the celebratory mood.
Corn & Chocolate
Enough with all the savory — let’s get into what National Chocolate Day is really all about: the sweet! While this dish’s name doesn’t quite sound like its two main ingredients go together, the taste absolutely does. Corn & Chocolate is made with tortillas coated in cinnamon-Calabrian sugar and topped with chocolate-hazelnut spread, white chocolate, blackberry compote and Chantilly vanilla-cream.
Pistachio Croissant
If I were allowed one baked good to enjoy for the rest of my life, it would undoubtedly be a croissant. More specifically, the Pistachio Croissant at Toothsome. This flaky treat is filled with pistachio cream and served with white chocolate ice cream, a blackberry compote and caramel.
Chocolate Obsession Sundae
A little brain freeze never hurt anyone, and it certainly won’t be what deters you from trying the Chocolate Obsession Sundae this National Chocolate Day at Toothsome. Chocolate is the name of this emporium’s game, and with this sundae, it definitely delivers. Delight in chocolate ice cream topped with brownies, brookies, chocolate gears, crisps, whipped topping and ganache. The best part? It’s all made from chocolate!
Toothsome Chef Joseph Turner says this year, he really pushed the boundaries of what he could do in the kitchen and urges guests and chocolate lovers alike to spend this National Chocolate Day doing the same.
