Living in Florida has some great perks. Beautiful beaches, gorgeous weather year round, and Universal Orlando Resort is right in your backyard.
Can it get any better? Yes! Florida residents get exclusive benefits to our destination like special ticket offers and discounts. But sometimes planning your upcoming adventure can feel a little overwhelming with all the different options.
Here’s my easy-to-read guide that breaks down the perks.
Choose the Right Ticket or Offer for You

Florida residents can always save when you buy multi-day tickets online throughout the year! That’s right, we have specially-priced Florida resident tickets and offers available all year.
Click here to see our current ticket, package and Annual Pass offerings and sign-up for emails to stay up to date on our deals. Note: You do need to purchase your tickets online in order to get the discount!
Tip: Head straight to the ticket turnstiles when you arrive to the parks. You no longer need to verify your residency before you get to the front gate.
Tip: Avoid the crowds and come visit us during the week! As a Floridian, I’m sure you’re familiar with when the tourist seasons are and how busy the weekends get.
Become a Die Hard Fan with an Annual or Seasonal Pass

If you’re like me, you’re going to want to keep coming back again and again. You can make that happen with an Annual or Seasonal Pass. Being a Passholder allows you to be among the first to check out all of our new offerings, exclusive events, discounts and more. The best part? Florida residents get special pricing on Passes.
First, you choose from either a 2-Park or 3-Park Annual Pass. My vote is 3-Park since you know you’re going to want to cool off year round at Universal Volcano Bay.
Next, pick the pass level that works for you from Seasonal, Power, Preferred or Premier. You’ll get a shiny new pass and access to endless amounts of thrills and excitement. Our Passholders get year round benefits, discounts, special events and more. What more could you ask for? Click here for details.
Make It a Staycation with Hotel Savings

Sometimes you need to take a break from everyday life and enjoy a staycation.
Florida residents can save with special rates at any of our eight resort hotels during select times of the year. There are plenty of options to choose from to suit your needs and budget. Plus, staying at the hotels gives you access to all sorts of special theme park benefits like Early Park Admission, free transportation to the theme parks, and even Unlimited Universal Express if you stay at a Premier hotel.
Click here to check out the current offerings and learn more about each hotel.
Use that Extra Cash to Upgrade Your Visit

can snow birds get a resident pass, with proof of address?
Hi Robert! We recommend reaching out to our Online Ticket Store at (877) 801-9720 for more information regarding proof of residency restrictions!
Hi Universal Orlando,
It’s been quite a while since I’ve
visited. I came there with my school
and wow, how I did enjoy the visit.
Space Mountain was awesome.
Hi Wesley! We hope to see you again soon, and make sure you check out the Jurassic World VelociCoaster during your next visit!
Hi! In the tip above, it says: “Head straight to the ticket turnstiles when you arrive to the parks. You no longer need to verify your residency before you get to the front gate.” Can we already verify our Florida IDs online? Appreciate the advice on how the process goes!
Hi Theresa! Guests must verify their Florida Residency upon arrival at our Ticket Turnstiles. We hope this helps, and we can’t wait to see you soon!
Hi! So we don’t have to go to guest services to verify our residency, even if our ID is still from out of state? I can’t imagine people in line behind me while I pull out my residency docs, lol.
Can y’all confirm, in writing, what you take for residency? The policy is missing from the website, and it seems everyone gets different answers when we call, and the employees at the parks expect different items too. If we get one answer on the phone and the park employee expects something different, our day is essentially ruined because we didn’t bring what they wanted. People don’t walk around with bills, lol, we need to know what we should bring with us. A clear policy would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hey Alicia! We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. We would highly recommend reaching out to our Guest Services Team via email at GuestServices@universalorlando.com for assistance with this. We look forward to your visit!
my son is a high school student in Florida and lives at the school. How do I prove his residence? Is the I20, which is the student’s official document, valid as proof?
Hi Samantha! If your son is under 18, no proof of residency is required. Guests 18 and older do need to provide proof of residency, which can be a Florida Driver’s License, Florida issued state ID/Government Issued ID with a Florida Address, Florida voter registration card with corresponding picture ID, or Student College ID from Florida college or University.
And where can I buy my child’s ticket as a resident, at Citywalk? He is 15 years old, studies and lives in Daytona Beach.
You’re welcome to purchase your ticket online, over the phone or in person, Samantha. For additional assistance with your purchase journey, we recommend reaching out to our Online Ticket Store at 407-224-7840.
Hi Chris! In order to receive the Florida Resident discount, everyone in the party must show their valid Florida Resident ID as proof of residency. Guests under 18 will not be asked to provide ID.
Our daughter who is a Florida resident, purchased tickets for her and her family but can no longer go. We, as out of state grandparents, have stepped in to take the children. Can we use the passes she bought as a Florida resident to take her children who are residents? I hope that makes sense!
Hi Alesha. Each Guest utilizing a Florida resident ticket would need to provide proof of Florida residency upon redemption. If you are unable to utilize these tickets and they were purchased directly through us, we recommend reaching out to our Online Ticket Store at 407-224-7840 to discuss which options may be available.
hello, i have my florida id expired and the apoitment to renew it is after my trip, can i show my id and a bill with and address as proff?
Hi Stephany. Our Guest Services Team would be happy to help you. Please contact us at 407-224-4233 or via email at GuestServices@universalorlando.com with more information, so we can better assist you.
Is it possible to combine both Florida resident and annual passholder hotel rates or is it just one or the other?
Hello Chris, the Annual Pass and Florida Resident discounts on the hotels cannot be combined. You can either use the Annual Pass Hotel Discount or the Florida Resident Hotel Discount, but you can not use both on the same reservation.
