There’s no worse feeling than the post-vacation blues. I’m speaking from experience here. Luckily, there’s one sure-fire way to bring a little vacation back home with you: stocking up on souvenirs, of course! And at Universal Studios Japan, there’s truly no shortage of must-have merch to choose from. Now my wallet is speaking from experience.

Making your shopping list in advance? Here are the basics:

One thing you’ll notice right away when you enter Universal Studios Japan: People love to wear their favorite fandoms on their sleeve. Literally. USJ offers over 100 (!) different wearable accessories for purchase, so whatever fandom you’re looking to represent, there’s something here with your name on it.

One of my favorite things about shopping around Universal Studios Japan is browsing all of the cute keychains! If you want to accessorize your theme park bag and show off your fandom at the same time, nabbing a couple of keychains is a must. Some of my favorites include:

• Plush owls with Hogwarts acceptance letters
• Set of Snoopy charms
• Plush Bob the Minion (with his bear, Tim!)
• Po the Panda Breakfast Noodles charm

Why let the accessorizing end with your bag? Throughout Universal Studios Japan you can find unique sets of rings, like these SUPER NINTENDO WORLD rings featuring a ? Block, Green Shell, and POW Block. You can also match your ring to your chosen Power-Up Band — more on those soon!

If you’re for something a little more bold, might I suggest a themed piece of headwear? This is one of the most popular ways to flaunt your fandom at USJ! You could snag an adorable hat featuring a sleeping Yoshi on the brim, perfect to show off your love for the character. Speaking of adorable, you can channel Bob the Minion by wearing his teddy bear, Tim, on your head! Or, live out your Sorting Ceremony dreams with your very own wearable Sorting Hat.

On the more subtle side, you could opt for Snoopy and Charlie Brown hair clips, or — one of my personal favorites — a Snoopy scrunchie. Stylish and functional!

Toys & Plushes

If there’s one element of my being, one core personality trait, that has remained true since my very first day on Earth, it’s that I’m going to buy a plush. So, it probably comes as no surprise that Universal Studios Japan is paradise for me. I was almost overwhelmed by how many cute options there were to choose from! (Almost.)

It’s hard to narrow it down to just a few favorite plush toys, but if cuteness is your priority, you’ll want to check these out:

• Snoopy and Charlie Brown mini plushes
• Yoshi and other SUPER NINTENDO WORLD plushes
• “Despicable Me” fluffy unicorns

Interactive Items

These are items you might want to prioritize earlier during your visit to Universal Studios Japan, as they unlock exclusive games and experiences throughout the theme park! Let’s start with interactive wands.

A wand is a must-have if you want to explore the wizarding world like a true witch or wizard. You can use it to cast spells throughout Hogsmeade; wherever you see a bronze medallion in the pavement, that means you can practice your wand magic. There are a wide variety of interactive wands to choose from, and you can find them all at Ollivanders, as well as a handful of other merchandise locations throughout the theme park.

Over in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, you can experience Key Challenges with the help of a Power-Up Band. And they’re not just stylish. These bands allow you to play interactive games throughout the land and collect keys. Once you have three keys, you can face Bowser Jr. in Bowser Jr. Shadow Showdown and try to recover the Golden Mushroom.

There are several Power-Up Bands to choose from, each themed to your favorite Super Mario and Donkey Kong characters. Whichever one you’re looking for, you can find it in the 1-UP Factory, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Merchandise Cart, the Universal Studios Store, and Mario Motors.

Home Goods

OK, I hear you: What about practicality? Well, Universal Studios Japan has you covered on that front! If you’re tired of your drab tissue box, you can bring a little piece of Amity Island home with you in the form of this plush “Jaws” cover. Chief Brody would be proud! Or maybe concerned.

As you’re back home and planning your next visit to Universal Studios Japan, you could sip on a stylish cup of joe with the help of a Chocolate Frog Mug. You could also keep the Amity theme going with a Jaws mug or tumbler, or spring for a sweet mug featuring Snoopy in all his glory. (Does that mean you’re sipping on a cup of Joe…Cool?)

Who needs a boring coffee table book when you could have your very own issue of “The Quibbler” laid out instead? Just be sure to leave out the included pair of Spectrespecs so your guests can have the full 3-D experience.

When it comes to mixing cute and practical, there’s hardly a better example than the hand towels you can find in various shops throughout Universal Studios Japan. There are so many unique designs, but all of them have one thing in common: They’re just darn useful! Paper towels are hard to come by in most public restrooms in Japan, so if you want to skip the wait for a hand dryer (or just do your part to help reduce paper waste!) I recommend keeping a hand towel in your bag throughout your whole trip.

Sweets & Snacks

If you’re looking for a unique souvenir for your friends and family back home, look no further than the snack aisle! In Universal Studios Japan, you can find themed treats that are perfect for gifting — especially if you’re shopping for someone with a sweet tooth. Some of many options include:

As a writer myself, I’ve saved the best (or, at least, most practical) for last: stationery! And believe me when I say there is no shortage of it around Universal Studios Japan. (If I said I wrote the first draft of this article with my very own Snoopy pen, would you believe me?)

I just revealed myself to be a pen girl, but if a pencil is more your vibe, a set of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD mechanical pencils is a must-have. Or, represent your favorite Nintendo royal with ballpoint pens themed to Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, and Rosalina!
