I’m a big movie person. They’re a huge reason as to why I moved to Los Angeles, and also why I work at Universal Studios Hollywood. When I took the World-Famous Studio Tour for the first time, I was in awe of all the film history that is held on the backlot. After disembarking, I was dying to learn and experience everything I could about my favorite Universal films. So, when Mega Movie Summer was introduced last summer, it seemed like my wish was coming true.
And now Mega Movie Summer is returning for a second year! Here’s what you can expect at Mega Movie Summer 2026:
- At Mega Movie Summer the blockbuster films that will be highlighted around the park with themed events, merch, food, and more are: Illumination’s “Minions & Monsters,” “The Odyssey,” the 25th anniversary of “Fast & Furious,” “Wicked,” and “Wicked: For Good.”
- Select dining venues at Universal Studios Hollywood will be offering a new thematic menu relating to a Universal movie. For example, Hollywood and Dine will transform into Drift & Dine to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Fast & Furious” with themed dishes and drinks.
- No special ticket is required to attend Mega Movie Summer. It will run during normal operating hours for the theme park from June 13 to August 9, 2026.
At Mega Movie Summer, you can dive deeper into some of your favorite blockbuster films and experience the theme park in a whole new way. From June 13 to August 9, 2026, you’ll see new menus of movie themed food & beverages, new photo ops, character meet and greets, and more goodies exclusive to this event, all accessible to everyone with a general admission ticket. This summer the spotlight is on Illumination’s “Minions & Monsters,” “The Odyssey,” the 25th anniversary of “Fast & Furious,” “Wicked,” and “Wicked: For Good.” So, lights, camera, action!
Living Life A Quarter Mile at a Time

For over 20 years, “The Fast and the Furious” has remained a Universal fan favorite — so naturally, it belongs at Mega Movie Summer. This summer you will be able to experience immersive entertainment, buy merch, and eat food paying homage to the franchise all over Universal Studios Hollywood.
You’ll be able to get up close and personal with picture cars used in the movies, see a hip hop dance performance from the street racers, and discover a whole new menu at Hollywood and Dine. That menu includes a Fried Elote Corn Dog (a corn dog with lime crema, cotija, tajin and cilantro served with fries), Grill Master’s Burger (an all beef patty with tangy dressing, grilled onions, and bell peppers served with fries), and a Quarter Mile Funnel Cake (funnel cake with oreo crumbles, chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream, chocolate whipped topping and even more oreos).
If you’re going to the theme park with your family, you’ll want to drift over to Cocina Mexicana to take advantage of La Familia Meal. This option is a family-style meal that includes eight tacos, rice, beans, chips, guacamole, and salsa, and to top it all off, four chocolate Oreo tire conchas. This platter has something for everyone to fuel up on.
Maximize your eats with the all-new Universal Studios Hollywood Dining Pass, which includes two eligible entrees and four eligible sides, snacks, desserts or beverages. You can purchase a Dining Pass on the Universal Studios Hollywood website before your visit, or buy it in-park at participating locations.
We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Menu

The best way to experience a movie, in my opinion, is with fresh popcorn in a cold and quiet movie theater. A very close second would be consuming drinks, desserts, and full meals inspired by some of my favorite films. Luckily for me (and honestly, you) Mel’s Diner is getting an entire menu dedicated to the 1975 smash-hit, “Jaws.” Some highlights from the menu include; Shark Bait Burger (a pastrami burger with fries), a Lobster Roll (a lobster roll on a buttered roll with lettuce, served with fries and tartar sauce), and Fish & Chicken Basket (fried cod served with fries and tartar sauce).
And if you’re anything like me and have a sweet (shark) tooth, you’ll also want to get an Amity Island Funnel Cake. It’s a funnel cake (of course) topped with ice cream, strawberry and blueberry jam, and cinnamon streusel. You can also pick up the Lifesaver Swirl, which is vanilla soft serve, strawberry sauce, whipped topping, and a sugar cookie. Yum!

As a part of Mega Movie Summer, you’ll also be able to pick up a park-exclusive “Jaws” Loungefly Crossbody Bag, which depicts an homage to the film’s iconic poster. You’ll see new apparel, accessories, and more that you can only find at Universal.
Boogie Fever

In theaters July 1, 2026, Illumination’s “Minions & Monsters” expands the joyful animated universe with the next entry into the franchise. This time, we get to see the Minions in the 1920s, attempting to find monsters to cast in a monster movie. And what better place to celebrate it than at Universal Studios Hollywood, the birthplace of the monster movie? You’ll get the change to strike a pose with the new characters, James and Henry, making their Universal Studios Hollywood debut, and show off your sweet dance moves at a Minion Dance Party.
At the Minion Cafe, there are two new menu items for Mega Movie Summer, one savory and one sweet. The sweet option is Howard’s Berry Lemonade Cupcake, a pink vanilla cupcake filled with lemon curd, topped with raspberry buttercream, strawberry crunch, and pink lemonade gummy tentacles. And to balance your day with a savory option, you can pick up James’ Carbarana, which is cavatappi pasta tossed in a garlic cream sauce with pancetta and peas.

You’ll also be able to celebrate the upcoming Illumination’s film “Minions & Monsters” with merchandise exclusive to the theme park. Dress up in an all-new “Minions & Monsters” t-shirt and bucket hat, walk through the park with a brand new Goomi Shoulder Pal, and try your luck with a “Minions & Monsters” Blind Box Figures with over seven characters to collect!
Because I Knew You

And, what’s the most swankified place in town? Well, The DreamWorks Theatre, of course! There, you’ll have the chance to be reunited with our favorite Ozians, for a thrillifying meet and greet with Elphaba and This Mega Movie summer, one encounter is all it takes to leave you changed…for good.
And it would be simply horrendible to leave Mega Movie Summer without picking up some exclusive “Wicked” merch! From precious “Wicked: For Good” plushes of your favorite characters to two new Spirit Jerseys, there’s something for every fan.
Set Sail For Summer
One of the many benefits of Universal Studios Hollywood being an active film and television studio is that The World Famous Studio Tour is always evolving. This summer, you’ll be able to see brand-new clips while you’re on the tram tour. These will feature the filmmakers behind “The Odyssey,” a Universal picture directed by Christopher Nolan, coming to theaters July 17, 2026.
The studio tour will also showcase a screen-used ship from “The Odyssey.” That means you can see a real movie prop and then once you disembark the tram you can head up to Universal Cinema on CityWalk to see the ship in action on the big screen. But before you rush off, don’t forget to snap a photo at the exclusive Mega Movie Summer photo op!
And that’s a wrap on what we know about Mega Movie Summer. As you can see, this event is shaping up to create a summer full of amazing memories at Universal Studios Hollywood. Don’t miss out!
