I’m going on an Easter Egg hunt, but probably not the kind you’re thinking of — and I think you should join me! This year, The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen in Universal CityWalk is bringing out a bountiful Easter brunch on April 19 and 20 featuring both fan-favorites and new offerings. Missing out on eats this tasty is borderline criminal, and once I show you what’s on the menu, you’ll understand exactly what I mean!

Beef Tenderloin Benedict

Remember the aforementioned Easter Eggs I said I was hunting for? Well, it turns out they’ve been cracked open and made into a savory Beef Tenderloin Benedict. Chef Brandon says this is the first time Toothsome has done a Benedict-style dish, and he’s confident it’ll be a hit among guests.

Made with a prime beef filet, this dish offers a French twist with poached eggs and roasted spinach on toasted rounds of brioche dressed in sauce foyot, a classic French mixture of hollandaise and beef demi glace. Served with a side of Herbes de Provence hash browns, this dish is a French-inspired delicacy that you can’t go without trying.

Croissant French Toast

Toothsome’s menu was always meant to reflect influence from French cuisine, and Chef Brandon says he tapped directly into that inspiration when crafting the Easter brunch menu. One of those inspirations is as French as it gets: Croissant French Toast. This dish is a decadent custard-based bread pudding made from croissants and golden raisins while sliced and dipped in French toast batter. If that wasn’t convincing enough, it’s also topped with a vanilla chantilly cream and lightly sauteed orange liqueur mixed berries in butter brown sugar. Spoiler alert: It’s really good!

Triple Chocolate French Toast

Most people come to Toothsome for the never-ending chocolate options, so if that sounds like you, you’ll love the Triple Chocolate French Toast. Although Toothsome has done a chocolate French toast in the past, Chef Brandon decided to bring it back for the Easter brunch — and triple the chocolate.

This dish is made with a rich chocolate brioche sliced and dipped in French toast batter. It’s garnished with chocolate chips, strawberry-chocolate ganache, chocolate chantilly cream, and all the powdered sugar your sweet tooth could ever desire. “It’s going to be a chocolate lover’s dream for breakfast,” Chef Brandon says.

Toothsome Chocolate Waffle

Waffles are a morning staple, and leave it to Toothsome to serve one up on Easter Sunday with an obligatory chocolatey twist. A long-time fan favorite on this spot’s brunch menu, the Toothsome Chocolate Waffle is a must-have this Easter.

“That’s been a Toothsome classic for many, many years,” Toothsome Chef Brandon Conklin says. “I was like, ‘That needs to be on this brunch menu.’ You don’t get much more chocolate than the chocolate waffle.”

It’s exactly as it sounds: a waffle fully encased in chocolate. Find it topped with chocolate shavings and chunks, a raspberry-chocolate ganache, crushed chocolate creme-filled sandwich cookies, micro-mint and powdered sugar. Ask for chocolate, and you’ll certainly receive that and then some at Toothsome!

French Country

There’s no such thing as too much French toast. Quite the opposite, actually. The French Country is a Toothsome brunch staple that brings French toast stuffed with ham and gruyère cheese and topped with bechamel and fresh parsley. This dish is a savory-sweet delight well-deserving of a bite — or three!

Quiche Lorraine

If you’re hungry for French classics, there’s nothing more timeless than a Quiche Lorraine. For those unfamiliar with this dish’s game, it’s a fluffy egg custard with crispy bacon and melted cheese baked into a flaky pastry crust and topped with a creamy mornay sauce. You can enjoy it with a choice of soup or house salad. Simple, effective, and utterly delicious.

Smoked Salmon Crepes

Yes, you’re reading that right: Smoked Salmon Crepes. I know. Crepes? That aren’t sweet? Who knew such a delicacy even existed? Chef Brandon, apparently, and he might be onto something with this dish.

Taking a sharp turn from the traditional sweet, flaky dish, the Smoked Salmon Crepes are made with grilled cipollini onions and roasted asparagus, a chive crème fraîche, and an onion soubise. What’s that? I think it’s the sound of this dish calling your name!

Strawberry & Chocolate Beignets

Some might say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Others might even argue that title goes to brunch. I, however, have to give it up to dessert — especially the one coming to your table this Easter Sunday. The Strawberry & Chocolate Beignets are everything and more when it comes to French pastries. These freshly fried delights are dusted in powdered strawberries and sugar with a mint garnish and served with a side of strawberry-chocolate ganache. Trust me when I say you don’t just need this dish; this dish needs you!

The Gold Egg

Let’s talk cocktails! You’ll be needing something sweet to sip on while enjoying these tasty dishes, and what’s more classy than The Gold Egg? This vodka-based drink gets its rosy hue from a raspberry liqueur and sports fresh pineapple juice and, of course, bubbles.

Toothsome restaurant manager Grace Yacobowsky says that when trying to figure out what drinks to serve on Easter Sunday, she looked to Chef Brandon, who was heavily inspired by French cuisine. She decided to do the same. “We’re taking very classic French cocktails and revamping them for things that either work for Toothsome or for brunch,” she says.

Toothsome’s Connection

Toothsome French Connection, a cognac-based cocktail being served exclusively during Easter Brunch at Toothsome.

What better way to connect with French culture than with the Toothsome’s Connection? This cocktail offers a cognac base made with both an amaretto liqueur and dark chocolate liqueur. It’s got a rich, sweet-but-spicy kick to it that pairs exceptionally well with the Beef Tenderloin Benedict.
