Universal's Islands of Adventure

EDITOR’S NOTE: This blog was originally published in December of 2017 and then underwent extensive updates and editing in the summer of 2021 to remain current and relevant.

Universal Islands of Adventure really is the “choose your own adventure” of theme parks. It has eight themed islands with out-of-this-world attractions featuring some of your favorite characters and stories. From discovering the not-so-extinct dinosaurs over in Jurassic Park to teaming up with your favorite super heroes in Marvel Super Hero Island, you’re going to want to lock in a couple of days to do it all during your Universal Orlando Resort vacation. And we haven’t even touched on all there is to explore in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter yet.

With so many options, what attractions would you regret skipping? Obviously, all of them. BUT here are the 10 you absolutely have to add to your must-do list.

1. Fly through the Forbidden Forest on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

The only thing that pissed me off is the new ride hagrid was available for people staying in the resort and not for everyone. I feel that wasn’t right.

We rode it 4 times. Did the virtual line check in, and just showed up and got right on.

Please add Sneetches to the characters in Seuss Landing! They’re part of the trolley ride, there should be a Sneetch in the characters! And more Sneetch merchandise!

jUST GOT BACK FROM BOTH UNIVERSAL PARKS AND IT WAS AMAZING! THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER WAS THE BEST! DIDNT GET TO RIDE THE HAGRID RIDE CAUSE IT WAS DOWN BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WENT SMOOTH. THE PARK DID A GREAT JOB OF MAKING US FEEL SAFE TOO

We have been to both Universal parks a number of times and absolutely love them. My best rides are the 3D ones and anything with water. Would live there if I could 😎😍

Hi Martin, Annual passes will become active when you enter the park and use them for the first time.

    • Reply Martin Lazcano August 5, 2020 at 5:03 pm

      Fantastic!
I was worried that the annual pass was activated as soon as I bought it and that would be a disaster.
      Thanks for the info.
This is going to be our 20th time at the parks and believe there is always something new and sadly other attractions are replaced with the new ones.
