It’s a guided tour that allows you to bypass some of the regular lines, helping you to maximize your time and experience all the attractions without the wait. As a VIP, you’ll also gain access to some backstage areas and enjoy a themed buffet dinner…
Check-in and Themed Buffet Dinner
As the sun started to set the day of Team Member Preview, the podcast team arrived at the park filled with excitement, ready to take on the night. After a smooth check-in at Guest Services, we were handed our credentials and ushered to a private reception area to meet our R.I.P. tour guide for the evening.
Before all the scares and screams started, we went to a private dining area for a themed buffet dinner. It was a chance to fuel up for the rest of the night and indulge in a delicious spread of offerings. From delectable appetizers to an array of main courses and delicious desserts, every bite was a journey through both flavor and fright. The dishes were meticulously crafted to reflect the essence of the event’s theme, adding an extra layer of excitement to the dining experience — my personal favorite was the cookies and cream mummy cookie!
Exclusive Access to Haunted Houses
Our VIP experience kicked off with an introduction to our guide, Madison. Madison’s enthusiasm and passion for Halloween Horror Nights was infectious, setting the tone for an exhilarating night. The R.I.P. Tour guides do a phenomenal job explaining the lore behind each of the houses without spoiling any details. With the R.I.P. Tour pass in hand, you are able to skip the regular lines and Universal Express Pass lines, diving straight into all ten of the haunted houses. However, it’s important to note that this exclusive access permits only a single entry to each of the haunted houses. These immersive experiences were filled with intricate sets, spine-chilling actors, and horrifying scenes that made us question reality.
Exclusive R.I.P. Tour Bars
There are several areas during the Halloween Horror Nights event where you can stop and get a drink at exclusive R.I.P Tour bars, all with little to no line! There is a variety of beer, wine, seltzers and specialty cocktails available. My personal favorite bar we stopped at was the rooftop bar overlooking the streets of New York and the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.
Patrons must be 21 years and older with valid photo identification to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages.

As a Halloween Horror Nights newbie — I can say that this experience is nothing like I’ve ever had before! I had so much fun experiencing all there is to do at Halloween Horror Nights, and getting to do a R.I.P. Tour on top of that was just amazing. There is so much to see and do at this event, and with a R.I.P. Tour you can really maximize the amount of things you can do in one night. The R.I.P. Tour definitely takes the excitement to the next level by offering exclusive access and quicker entry to the attractions. It’s the perfect way to elevate your experience and immerse yourself fully in the thrills and chills of the event. Whether you’re navigating through haunted houses or screaming your way through scare zones, every moment is filled with excitement. I can’t wait to return every year for this event!
