Growing up, I was not a princess or doll kid…I was a dinosaur and comic book kid. I especially wanted to be like the superheroes and star in my own comic story. Thus, my heart absolutely exploded with joy when I learned about the theming for the Halloween Horror Nights 2023 tribute store at Universal Orlando Resort. Fam, get ready for the coolest walk-through comics experience of your life!
Yes, it’s happening: this year’s tribute store will transform into a real life comic book! It will feature four distinctly designed rooms with their own narratives and a connecting thru-line. Eagle eyed fans of comic illustrations will recognize classic styles, while some designs will be completely original from the creative minds on our Visual Merchandising team.
David and I hung out with Rob Cametti and Greg Duffy from the Visual Merchandise team who described some incredible specifics of what to expect for the tribute store. Seeing the renderings of the amazing designs and hand-drawn details, I could imagine the lifesize set pieces, cool lighting, and fearsome characters one might encounter.
And as we’ve come to expect from tribute stores in the past, this year’s installment will feature exclusive treats and brand new merchandise! I’m personally excited to nab some new Halloween Horror Nights gear (and sweets!) to add to my vast collection.
