Plan Your Universal Horror Unleashed Visit For Your Las Vegas Vacation

Published

You’re in Las Vegas on vacation and you’ve already (hopefully) won big at the casinos, shopped until you dropped on The Strip, caught a concert or two, or maybe hiked the state parks. Now, you’re looking to plan your night at Universal Horror Unleashed, an immersive horror-themed experience.

This year-round destination offers horror fans and curious newbies a permanent place to experience the unique, intricately designed horror that only Universal can offer (read our Universal horror legacy article here to see what we mean!).

  • Universal Horror Unleashed is full of live scares and entertainment, from four unique haunted houses and roaming characters to photo ops and atmospheric dining venues.
  • Make sure to plan enough time to maximize your horror experience. We recommend 3-4 hours for your visit to Universal Horror Unleashed.

This is my perfect Universal Horror Unleashed itinerary. Follow it, only if you dare!

Start With Dinner at Premiere House

First things first: I like being scared, but I don’t like being hungry.

If you feel the same, I have great news! There are plenty of dining options at Universal Horror Unleashed, but I recommend heading to Premiere House first, a full-service dining venue themed after the Blumhouse movies.

Step inside and you’ll find yourself in a stylish, cinematic horror setting where eerie decorations and film props bring the world of the Blumhouse movies to life. Here, you can enjoy cocktails, mocktails and shareable bites.

I would highly recommend the Brisket Burger, which is served as three sliders and topped with candied bacon, Swiss cheese, and crispy onions. While you’re enjoying your food, keep an eye out for appearances of M3GAN.

Just outside of Premiere House are multiple photo opportunities. After your photoshoot, soak in the spooky vibes around this area. You might encounter roaming scare actors lurking in the shadows, ready to pop up when you least expect it. Sometimes, they just want to talk! Sometimes.

First House: Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer

OK: You’re full from dinner, excited from your interactions with the scare actors, and ready to brave your first haunted house. In my opinion, the only thing in Las Vegas scarier than the wedding chapels (yes, I’m afraid of commitment, let’s keep moving) are the expertly themed haunted houses at Universal Horror Unleashed.

Why? One reason is that Universal Horror Unleashed seeks to send guests into haunted houses in separate groups. It uses a unique pulsed entry system so that your group is isolated to maximize the fear (and fun).

PRO TIP: If you’re a horror fan in love, click our events form here and an event manager will reach out to discuss your options to get married at Universal Horror Unleashed.

Since you’re refreshed on the Blumhouse lore from your dinner experience, now’s the perfect time to experience Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer. Inspired by a chilling story of possession, this haunted house follows two girls whose lives are slowly overtaken by an ancient evil.

This is a great one to start with because it has that classic haunted house feel while still feeling fresh and unique to Universal Horror Unleashed. As you move deeper inside, the terrifying story unfolds around you through dark ritual spaces, sound effects, and rooms that seem to shift in supernatural ways.

Wait, did that wall actually move? I’ll let you decide.

Greet the Vampire Queen and More!

Now that you’ve made your escape before an ancient evil made you its next victim, take a moment to catch your breath and explore the central area of the Universal Horror Unleashed warehouse while you work up the courage for your next house.

Chat with the Vampire Queen at her throne, if you’re brave enough. You can also watch vampire aerialists swing, leap and scream from the platforms above.

Plus, if there’s a diehard horror fan in your group, make sure to check out the relics and forgotten props inspired by classic Universal horror films that are lurking throughout the space.

Second House: Universal Monsters

Next, we’re stepping into the terrifying worlds of Universal Monsters.

In this house, you’ll follow in the footsteps of famed monster-hunter Van Helsing and face some of the most iconic figures in cinematic history.

This one is genuinely creepy. But the effects, sound design, and craftsmanship of the sets are mesmerizing, too. Each scare actor encounter drops you deeper into the legendary lore that turned the Universal Monsters into quintessential icons of horror.

Drink at Jack’s Alley and Join Jack’s Demented Circus Show

Next up, I recommend grabbing a drink at Jack’s Alley. The obvious choice is Jack’s Juice, a fruity, rum-based cocktail, but there are several specialty drinks offered at this high-energy table-service bar to quench your thirst.

Drink in-hand, you can watch the darkly comedic Jack & Chance: Stay or Slay show. In it, the deranged Jack the Clown and his mischievous sidekick, Chance, host a chaotic circus show that repeats throughout the night. Expect a lot of music, dancing, and twisted humor. Also, clowns.

I recommend standing close to the stage for this show. Not only is it the best view, but it might even give you a chance to be Jack and Chance’s next victim. Don’t you want to play a game with them? I know I do!

Once the show ends, be sure to stick around for the opportunity to grab a photo with the infamous duo.

Third House: Scarecrow: The Reaping

Our penultimate house is Scarecrow: The Reaping. Scarecrows are scary. I mean, it’s literally in the name.

But this house doesn’t just rely on scarecrows for the scares. The set is perfectly crafted to unsettle you. You wind through fog-choked cornfields, and a sense of unease settles over you as the air seems to be getting thicker.

In this house, you’re never truly alone. Twisted scarecrows loom in the shadows, their soulless eyes tracking your every move.

Grab A Drink At The Boiler

Once you make it out of the cornfields, we have another drink to try!

Like a beacon in the night, The Boiler bar appears to offer you a refreshment to help you gain your composure. To remind you of your fond memories from Scarecrow: The Reaping, grab the Harvester of Sorrow. It’s a whiskey-based cocktail balanced with apple purée and sparkling lemonade, and absolutely delicious.

Enter The Slasher Zone

Next, check out The Slasher Zone, a popular photo spot at Universal Horror Unleashed. It’s a dark corner outside of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted house where metal cages and blood‑stained props set the stage for a caged slasher who watches every guest who dares to pass by.

Fourth House: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Was that enough slashing for you? Me neither!

That’s why Texas Chainsaw Massacre is up next on the chopping (Ha, get it?) block. This is our fourth and final house, and I promise it won’t disappoint with its gruesome scares and heart-pounding setting.

Something unspeakable lurks in this house, waiting for anyone daring enough to enter. You’ll step inside a decaying Texas farmhouse, where walls stained with terror show you what happened to past victims.

Overall, the craftsmanship and performance of this house are something to marvel (and scream) at.

End the Night with More Scares

If you have an Unlimited Access ticket, now’s the perfect time to revisit your favorite haunted houses.

Regardless, you can grab another drink or seek out more roaming characters for a few last scares. Then, snap your final photos and soak in the spooky atmosphere before making your way to your last stop: the gift shop. Exclusive Universal Horror Unleashed merchandise awaits to take a piece of the night home with you.
