Growing up on the aptly named Space Coast of Florida, I developed an affinity for all things cosmic. That is why I’m especially fond of Universal Stella Nova Resort, a space-inspired resort near Universal Epic Universe with cool tones, galaxy murals, and unique porthole-style windows.
Stella Nova Resort is uniquely designed to invoke a celestial vibe. It’s the kind of place where you half-expect to see a spaceship docked outside… but instead, it’s your shuttle to the theme parks. Here, you can relax while also living out your sci-fi movie dreams. (They’re actually my sci-fi movie dreams. I’m projecting.)

Theming:
You’ll walk into a sleek lobby with theming inspired by infinitely swirling galaxies and stars. Everything from the glowing architectural details to the cosmic decor pulls you into a world beyond your solar system. It’s both calming and awe-inspiring. All throughout the hotel, you’ll find giant images of galaxies that are actual telescope images. There’s also a Vacation Planning Center nearby, where you can purchase tickets, get information, or make adjustments to your itinerary.
Outside at night, hidden stainless steel tiles illuminate the exterior of the hotel to look like a galaxy of stars. The facade is layered with thousands of reflective panels that make patterns and colors emerge depending on the time of day.
Rooms
The 750 Standard Rooms at Stella Nova Resort are each 315 square feet and designed with sweeping curves, subtle tones, and a bright, airy feel that makes coming back after a long theme park day feel like a reset.
What I love about Stella Nova Resort is that the cosmic decor adds just enough personality without overwhelming the space, while large, spaceship-style windows bring in natural light that keeps everything feeling fresh.
Each room is equipped with two queen beds and separate bath and vanity areas — which, by the way, is a total lifesaver when multiple people are trying to get ready at once.
What to Do at Universal Stella Nova Resort
If you know me, you know I think that the pool is the most important aspect of any vacation, and Stella Nova Resort absolutely delivers.
The Pool
The centerpiece of Stella Nova Resort is a massive 10,000-square-foot resort-style pool that offers a welcome oasis in between celestial adventures. Whether you’re diving in to cool off or claiming a lounge chair for the afternoon, it’s the kind of sunny space you’ll want to linger in.
Near the pool, you’ll also find a hot tub for unwinding and a kids’ splash pad perfect for younger travelers.
You’ll also discover plenty of activities, like poolside movies under the stars to outdoor games for the whole family. There’s even firepit-seating for cozy nights and walk-up food and drink service, Galaxy Bar and Galaxy Grill, so you never have to stray far from the fun.
Indoor Activities
Even if you’d prefer to stay inside, you can still keep the fun going indoors. The self-serve arcade is perfect for a quick dose of nostalgia. There’s also a fully equipped fitness center with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, weight machines, and free weights.

Cosmos Cafe and Market
Comos Cafe and Market is your go-to for three-meal quick-service dining. You’ll order at a central station, grab a seat, and pick up your food when it’s ready.
Menu highlights include paninis, pasta, and classic American comfort food like burgers and fried chicken. I highly recommend the Mexican Street Corn! There’s also a coffee bar and grab-and-go section stocked with fresh pastries, sandwiches, and salads.
Galaxy Bar and Galaxy Grill
Located poolside, this walk-up bar and grill is perfect for laid-back vacation dining.
The menu includes classic poolside options like burgers, quesadillas, and salads, plus a lineup of beer, wine, and cocktails that pair perfectly with a sunny afternoon by the water.
Nova Bar
At this lobby bar you’ll find creative cocktails infused with subtle nods to the resort’s cosmic theme, complete with smoke and air complexities. One popular drink is the Nebula, a smoky and refreshing mezcal cocktail, served shaken with strawberry-rose syrup, club soda, and fresh lime juice.
Pizza Delivery
After a day of thrills, guests can enjoy freshly-made pizza delivered straight to their room, even up to midnight!
