Truly experiencing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is an experience that requires all five senses. And while we love seeing, hearing and interacting with this land at Universal Studios Hollywood, we’re really big into tasting and smelling it. The food and drink options in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter are some of the tastiest you can find at the theme park. And if you’re a fan, you’ll appreciate how faithful these menus are to the “Harry Potter” books and films.
With extensive, British-inspired menus, you’re bound to find something that tickles your fancy at the Three Broomsticks and Hog’s Head pub. Here’s a run-down of what you can eat and drink in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood.
DELECTABLE DRINKS
Butterbeer
Let’s cut to the chase: If you haven’t tasted Butterbeer, you haven’t experienced a key element from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This non-alcoholic beverage is, in Muggle terms, reminiscent of butterscotch and shortbread. It comes in several varieties: cold, hot and frozen. The cold and frozen varieties have a (delicious) creamy froth — with a dairy-free version available as well.
You can find Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks, Hog’s Head, and at several carts throughout the land. So you’ve got no excuse to not get your paws on a mug of this tasty drink.
Fishy Green Ale
Another non-alcoholic libation you’ll enjoy. This green concoction is a delectable blend of mint and cinnamon. But the real stars are the boba-style blueberry “fish eggs,” which burst in your mouth for a surprising tart explosion. While Fishy Green Ale might look like it was scooped up by the merfolk in the Great Lake, there’s not actually any fish in this drink. You can find it at the Three Broomsticks.
Pumpkin Juice
This pumpkin-cinnamon-apple concoction will have you feeling like it’s autumn on any day of the year. You can find it on tap at Three Broomsticks, or in a collectible bottle with a pumpkin cap throughout The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Pumpkin Fizz
Pumpkin Juice, but make it fizzy. This carbonated version of the wizarding world classic has a bit of zip to it — it’s basically pumpkin pie in a cup. It also tastes a touch less sweet than the bubble-free version.
Apple & Pear Ciders
These are delicious options if you’re craving something fruity but not so sweet. Both the apple and pear ciders are non-alcoholic, so witches and wizards of all ages can enjoy them.
House-Made Ales
While there are stellar adult beverages throughout the theme park, beer nerds will especially appreciate the selection at Hog’s Head. The rustic pub features a selection of brews made specifically for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. These include Hog’s Head Ale (red ale), Dragon Scale (amber lager), and Wizard’s Brew (dark coffee stout). The Honey Mead is a newer addition — a tart, refreshing elixir with subtle honey notes, similar to a sour beer.
You can find Hog’s Head Ale and Dragon Scale on tap at the Three Broomsticks, and a much wider selection of adult beverages at Hog’s Head.
BREAKFAST FEASTS
Traditional English Breakfast
This plate is filled with hearty fare — perfect fuel before a Quidditch match. In just one serving, you’ll get [takes massive breath]: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, baked beans, a baked tomato, sautéed mushrooms, potatoes, a croissant and black pudding.
Continental Breakfast
Start your day with an array of fresh fruits, as well as a croissant and a scone with jam and butter. Just like they do it at Beauxbatons, presumably.
American Breakfast
This dish comes with scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage, and a croissant and butter on the side.
Pancake Breakfast
For those craving both a savory and sweet breakfast, this plate is calling your name. Dig into three fluffy buttermilk pancakes, with bacon and sausage on the side.
PRO TIP: The Three Broomsticks only serves breakfast on certain days, until 11 a.m. Check the Three Broomsticks hours on the official Universal Studios Hollywood app prior to your arrival at the theme park.
LUNCH & DINNER DELIGHTS
The Great Feast
If you’re with a group of three or more, this is the way to go. This heaping bounty of roasted meats and veggies will make you feel like you’ve just won the House Cup. It comes with roasted corn and potatoes, fresh vegetables, and an optional add-on side salad. For the meat portion, diners select either spare ribs, roast chicken, or a combination of the two.
Spare Ribs Platter & Roast Chicken Platter
If you want The Great Feast but as a serving for one, these dishes are great options. The juicy, flavorful meats are served with roast potatoes and corn on the cob.
Shepherd’s Pie
The ultimate comfort food for cozying up on a snowy Hogsmeade afternoon. This savory dish is filled with spiced minced beef and vegetables, blanketed in buttery mashed potatoes. A vegan version, made with a plant-based veggie loaf and topped with roasted potatoes, is also available.
Bangers & Mash
This traditional British course consists of English sausage, mashed potatoes, roasted tomatoes, sautéed onions and cabbage, mint peas and gravy. Can’t you just hear Hagrid saying “Bangers and Mash” aloud?
Asparagus Vegetable Platter
Yet another delicious vegan option available! This entrée is essentially an animal-product-free version of Bangers & Mash, with grilled asparagus instead of sausage.
Fish & Chips
No Gillyweed necessary to enjoy a helping of fish at the Three Broomsticks. Dig into two pieces of beer-battered, deep fried cod, with a side of fries and tartar sauce for dipping. It’s a British icon for a reason.
Roast Chicken Salad
Some days all you crave is a good salad. At the Three Broomsticks, this plate of greens is topped with roast chicken, which is moist and flavorful. Plus, a lunchtime salad leaves plenty of room for dessert. Speaking of which…
SWEET TREATS
Sticky Toffee Pudding
This one’s an absolute can’t-miss. This classic British dessert is a dense, gooey bread pudding, with notes of toffee (duh), butterscotch and nuts. It comes out freshly baked, and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream — once that melts into the pudding, the flavors blend and become even richer. Order it as a dessert, or, hey, as breakfast, as a snack, as dinner unto itself.
Butterbeer Delights
Remember when we mentioned those three varieties of Butterbeer? Those are just the liquid varieties. You can also get Butterbeer Ice Cream and Butterbeer Potted Cream at the Three Broomsticks, as well as Butterbeer Fudge and Butterbeer Soft-Serve over at Honeydukes. All three are rich with that trademark, butterscotch-meets-cream soda flavor combo unique to Butterbeer.
Chocolate Trifle
Another centuries-old English sweet to tickle your taste buds. The Three Broomsticks’ Chocolate Trifle layers chocolate cake, chocolate mousse and strawberries, the perfect balance of dense chocolateness and light fruity flavors.
Apple Pie
This fresh-baked bounty consists of spiced apples under a soft, yet crumbly topping, drizzled in icing. It’s big enough to share with friends and family.
Ice Cream Cups
Nothing beats a good scoop of ice cream. In addition to a hard-pack Butterbeer ice cream, the Three Broomsticks serves this frozen treat in strawberry and peanut butter, chocolate and vanilla.
BONUS: HONEYDUKES SWEETS
No trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be complete without a visit to Honeydukes, one of Harry and Ron’s favorite shops in Hogsmeade. The magical candy shop is jam-packed with sugary delights that’ll satisfy any sweet tooth. While you really can’t go wrong with the vast selection at Honeydukes, we have a few stand-out favorites:
Cauldron Cakes
As tasty as it is Instagrammable. These rich, moist, chocolate cakes are topped with adorable flame frosting, baked in a reusable cauldron-shaped baking cup. Cauldron Cups also come with instructions on how to make them at home, so hold onto your cauldron when it’s empty!
Chocolate Frogs
Not only are they delicious, but Chocolate Frogs play a key part in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” These chocolate amphibians, which come in dark and milk chocolate varieties, come with collectible cards of famous witches and wizards.
Fudge Selection
No, not the Minister of Magic. These dense, sugar-packed confections come in four flavors: Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Cheesecake and, of course, Butterbeer.
Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans
In Muggle terms, these candies are similar to “jelly beans” — but Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans are so much more than that. Just like in the books and films, they come in flavors ranging from the delightful (cherry, lemon, tutti-frutti) to the revolting (soap, earwax and dirt.) The risk makes the pleasant ones that much tastier.

Nice getting the food and drinks but what about all the people who have food issues. When I visited I had none now myself and many others have dairy, gluten, nut, or other allergies are they noted on the menus. Thanks
