Just imagine…it’s a glorious California morning. The birds are chirping, but your stomach is grumbling. It’s time for the most important meal of the day! When visiting Universal Studios Hollywood, rising bright and early requires a bit of fuel to get your day going. Whether you’re more of a sit and savor sort of person, or you prefer your breakfast on the go, the theme park and Universal CityWalk have you covered.

Breakfast Favorites at Universal Studios Hollywood

Three Broomsticks

You know this rustic tavern in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter for its selection of British fare including Fish & Chips, “The Great Feast” and, of course, Butterbeer in all its forms. But did you know that this famed establishment also serves a variety of breakfast options as well? For those visiting before 11 a.m. on select days, Three Broomsticks serves traditional favorites such as a Continental Breakfast, which features fresh fruit served with a croissant and a scone. They also serve a Pancake Breakfast featuring fluffy buttermilk pancakes, accompanied with a choice of crisp bacon or link sausage. For those looking to stay stateside, you can order an American Breakfast, featuring fresh scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage with a butter croissant.

But for those truly wishing to live out their Scottish Highland fantasy, we recommend the Traditional English Breakfast. This famed dish brings together fresh scrambled eggs, a sausage link, bacon, ham, baked beans, baked tomato, sautéed mushrooms and potatoes with a butter croissant and black pudding. The variety on this dish is unmatched, and it’s one of my favorites at the Three Broomsticks. Even better, each breakfast plate includes a choice of beverage: coffee or juice.

For those younger witches and wizards, there’s also a selection of plates including smaller portions of the Pancake Breakfast, American Breakfast and Traditional English Breakfast. Gotta make sure all students are ready for another exciting day at Hogwarts!

Jurassic Cafe

If you’re getting an early start on your adventure through the jungle, you’ll need to charge up with a hearty morning meal. There’s something for everyone at this tropical outpost, including a Breakfast Platter with Bacon or Sausage featuring Applewood smoked bacon or sausage patty, scrambled eggs and breakfast potato cubes. Additionally, you can try a Berries & Cream Waffle for those who like to start their morning with something sweet. It comes garnished with blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and a dab of whipped topping.

For those looking to grab their bites on the go for their next adventure, try handheld favorites like the Breakfast Burrito, which consists of a warm flour tortilla packed with scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, shredded Jack and cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, and your choice of sausage or vegan Chorizo. Looking for something slightly lighter? Try a Yogurt Parfait, which features blueberries, strawberries, granola and vanilla yogurt.

On-the-Go Eats at Universal Studios Hollywood

Quiche Lorraine at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Listen, I totally get if stopping for a relaxing breakfast experience isn’t on your Universal Studios Hollywood itinerary. I’ve been known to beeline to my favorite attractions as soon as the park opens — who has time for a sit-down breakfast when you have morning stretches to do? In case you need a quick eat as you navigate your day, you can stop by Palace Deli & Market, French Street Bistro, or Studio Cafe for quick bites like a fruit or yogurt cup, or a flaky croissant. Assorted beverages like juices and coffees are also available for your culinary delight!

If you want to start your day with something sweet, stop by Lard Lad Donuts in Springfield, U.S.A. and get one of those famous cake confections to share (or not). Whether you’re looking for something more traditional like the Chocolate Glazed or are looking for sweet creamy frosting with The Big Pink, this purveyor of circular treats will have you drooling like Homer Simpson. Additionally, this location also features specialty coffee beverages like Lattes or Cappuccinos

If you’re into caffeination, we’ve got you covered! Most dining locations feature coffees and teas, but you can always stop by Starbucks on either the Upper Lot, across from Universal Plaza, or the Lower Lot, next to the entrance of Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride. They’ve got the full menu of signature beverages, breakfast sandwiches and artisan pastries.

Starting Your Day at Universal CityWalk Hollywood

When arriving to Universal Studios Hollywood, you’ll likely make your way through the bustling CityWalk street. While this street is known for coming alive at night, there’s a few fun locations where you can fuel up before you start your day at the theme park.

For coffee drinkers, there is a Starbucks location near the Universal Cinema that features the full menu that you know and love. With its mix of espresso beverages, small bites, and artisan pastries, Starbucks gets the job done.

If it’s gonna take more than a coffee to kick your day off, you can stop by Voodoo Doughnut for a sweet treat. The shop serves more than 50 varieties of famous fried creations, including the Portland Cream (my personal favorite) and some unique spins on flavors like the Grape Ape and the Ring of Fire. Look out for special flavors tied to seasonal events and holidays. Also, look out for a variety of hot and cold coffee beverages that are ready to spellbind you into a state of caffeination. Nothing pairs better than a nice, sweet doughnut and a piping hot cup of joe.

Jamba at Universal CityWalk Hollywood.

For another concept, head on over to Cinnabon for a sticky-sweet treat. Who doesn’t love their breakfast dripping in frosting – I know I do! Other eats and treats to look out for when looking to start your day include Jamba with its assortment of un-guilty pleasures like smoothies and fruit bowls, located near the dancing fountains at the center of CityWalk.
