You may have heard the sounds of spells being cast and cheers from passionate fans this weekend as A Celebration of Harry Potter took place at Universal Orlando Resort.
My favorite part of the event is seeing those fans express their passion through creative costumes inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.
There were fans dressed up as their favorite characters from the Harry Potter films and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Fans who coordinated their costumes as a group.
And fans who were going solo.
There were creative twists on beloved beasts from the films and fiction.
Some of my favorites were the original designs that fans created inspired by the unique look and feel of the wizarding world.
And of course, there were Hogwarts students representing every house. (Go Slytherin!)

We had another amazing year at the event and seeing all these creative costumes was equally amazing as well! So sad that the GyffinClaw girls (they were Stan Shunpike and Hogwarts express conductors) didn’t get a photo opp though…. maybe next year! This is another incredible experience and memory for them! Thank you to all that contributed towards that!
My friend was blown-up aunt Marge, which was pretty fantastic. I was an Ilvermorny student. And somewhere i saw a pretty amazing cornish pixie.
Thank you so much Universal for choosing us as one of your best costumes for the 2018 celebration! (We were the Harry, Ron, Hermione Yule Ball and Molly Weasley) from the costume contest! We love, love, love to cosplay and you make us feel so special and appreciated when we are chosen, I know it is a very difficult to pick a few out of the MANY outstanding and very creative costumes that come out during the Harry Potter Celebration. I sure wish Universal would host a few Harry Potter cosplay days each year apart from Celebration, we would all be “RIDDIKULUSLY” happy! : )
