Back for its third-ever year, Butterbeer Season is a celebration of all things — wait for it — Butterbeer. In case you’ve never tasted it, Butterbeer is a family-friendly beverage reminiscent of butterscotch and shortbread. It comes in many forms, though the classic is in the form of a cold and bubbly beverage. Butterbeer shows up throughout the “Harry Potter” books and movies in moments of camaraderie and celebration — it’s best consumed in happy moments with loved ones. You can totally use that line when you round up all your friends and family for a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, by the way.

What is Butterbeer Season?
Butterbeer Season is a celebration of all things Butterbeer, of course! Butterbeer Season features limited-time Butterbeer treats and Butterbeer-themed merch on sale. Whether you’ve enjoyed dozens of mugs of the stuff over the years or you’ve always wanted to try it, there’s no time more delicious to visit the wizarding world.
Butterbeer Season runs March 1 – May 31, 2026 in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood. And this year’s an extra special one, as we’re celebrating 25 years since the release of the first “Harry Potter” film!

What’s New to Butterbeer Season 2026?
New on the Butterbeer Season menu: the Butterbeer Waffle. I wasn’t sure it was possible to make everybody’s favorite griddle-cooked cakes even more delicious, and once again, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has proven me wrong. Listen, it’s Butterbeer Season. We’re not going to be subtle about it. In other words, if you like the taste of Butterbeer, you’re going to love this limited-time treat. The Butterbeer Waffle is available at the Three Broomsticks all day long throughout Butterbeer Season.
If you made your way to last year’s inaugural Butterbeer Season, you likely got to taste the Butterbeer Cream Puff. Whether you did or didn’t, I’ve got great news for you: The cream puff is back for the season in 2026! This pastry is stuffed with shortbread cookie butter filling, topped with a delicious Butterbeer cream and drizzled with Butterbeer sauce. It was a fan-favorite treat last year, so make sure you get your hands on this treat during the event!

Of course, Butterbeer can (and should) be enjoyed year-round, and the standard offerings will certainly be available during Butterbeer Season. The iconic wizarding world beverage is served in three forms: cold, frozen, and hot. Which one is the “best”?
