Be Brave | A Letter to Future Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) Super Fans

September 23, 2022
Scareactor with ax and scared people

From the twisted minds of our award-winning team of creative designers, come the horrifying houses, sinister scare zones and outrageous shows that make up Halloween Horror Nights (HHN). When it comes to Halloween, nobody brings the screams like Universal.

But we don’t need to convince you, do we?

Because you get scared easily. The pictures you see online (heck, even the picture at the top of this blog may have your heart racing), the stories your friends have told — it’s all enough to make you say,  “I’m just not that into horror, you all go ahead without me…”

If there’s one thing you should fear more than fear itself, it’s missing out on memories that will last a lifetime. You’ll look back on the pictures you take or you’ll see the Halloween Horror Nights shirt hanging in your closet, and you’ll remember for years to come what an amazing time you had. Everything from the houses and scare zones, shows and costumes, mouth-watering culinary creations and creepy cocktails to the pulsing energy of everyone around you, makes this annual event a stunning time that our guests can’t get enough of. Don’t just let your loved ones show you their scared selfies with scareactors — this year, you’re going to be in those pictures!

Halloween Horror Nights is not just fear — it’s fun. The first noise after a scream is a laugh. The shows are outrageous — with wild stunts, amazing special effects, and pulse-pounding music. You’ll be left wondering how you didn’t experience this amazing entertainment earlier. Plus, you want to talk about the best people-watching experience you could ever hope for at a theme park? Nothing is quite as satisfying as watching monsters and ghouls shock an unsuspecting group passing by and hearing the screams (and laughter) erupt.

Oh, and you want to a way to feel proud of yourself? You will feel so accomplished when you overcome your fear and visit Halloween Horror Nights for the first time. The people who know you, who know you’re a scaredy cat, won’t believe you actually went! Shake things up and give ‘em a story they’re not expecting.

Being brave doesn’t mean ignoring your fear — it requires you to embrace it. If you feel your heart start to pound when you walk underneath the arches at Universal Studios (Florida or Hollywood!), if your palms start to sweat as you approach the entrance to a house… that is a good thing. That means you are both alive and excited, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Halloween is not just for horror fans; it’s for anyone looking for excitement, fun, and a break from the ordinary. You have all year to maintain your routine. Halloween is the time to let loose and try something different. We dress up in costumes to be something different than what we are the rest of the year (though please leave your spooky outfits at home for our event, our monsters get very jealous if they are not the center of attention.) Kids get to Trick-Or-Treat and eat way more candy than they should. The flavors of fall take over our coffees and desserts. The point is, this is the time of year to do something out of the ordinary, and for you, that means attending HHN!

Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. Don’t quote me on that, mostly because that’s not my quote, but basically — this is your year. Grab your friends, your tickets, and your bravery, and don’t miss this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.

Warning- event may be too intense for children and is not recommended for children under the age of 13. No costumes or masks allowed.
