I love sweet treats more than the average person. In fact, on any given day at Universal Orlando Resort, I’m the one gently suggesting an ice cream break. And by gently suggesting, I mean confidently building it into the day’s itinerary. That habit absolutely carries over to Universal Epic Universe. Exploring the theme park’s immersive worlds, exhilarating attractions and jaw-dropping entertainment works up an appetite for a frozen treat, especially during a hot summer day. And also, all the time.
Luckily for us, Epic Universe has an array of delicious ice cream confections, from the dreamy, cosmic-inspired soft serve at Frosty Moon to The Bubbly Barrel’s DK Crush Float and all of its refreshing, banana-pineapple goodness.
Now that you’ve developed your ice cream appetite, here are some of my favorites at Epic Universe.
Frosty Moon

Located in Celestial Park, the heart of Epic Universe, Frosty Moon is the theme park’s only dedicated ice cream shop — and it absolutely understands the assignment.
The menu features creamy soft-serve in classic flavors like vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate, along with vegan vanilla for a plant-based option. If you’re feeling more adventurous, there are also flavors like cookie butter and cheesecake to switch things up.
It’s a choose-your-own-adventure ice cream experience at Frosty Moon with its diverse selection of toppings. There are sprinkles, marshmallows, brownies, strawberry cheesecake, and more! My personal go-to topping? The Celestial Sprinkles. (In my opinion, you’re never too old for sprinkles.) Like many things at Epic Universe, these sprinkles are yummy, whimsical, and wonderfully on-theme.
If someone in your group claims they’re “not really an ice cream person” (couldn’t be me, but I respect it), Frosty Moon also offers incredible Chocolate Chip and Birthday Cake cookies so that no one has to miss out on a sweet treat.
PRO TIP: Frosty Moon’s Chocolate Chip cookie is vegan!
Meteor Astropub

At Meteor Astropub in Epic Universe’s Celestial Park, you can orbit a quick-service menu of delicious, elevated pub fare and stellar sips.
On my very official list of the best inventions of all time, Celestial Park and strawberry shortcake are both ranked absurdly high, which is exactly why I think the Astronomer’s Shortcake Skillet at Meteor Astropub is a must-try.
This warm skillet cookie is topped with strawberry ice cream and real strawberries for a truly out-of-this-world combination. You get the bright, juicy sweetness of the berries, the creamy richness of the ice cream, and the warm, indulgent cookie all in one bite.
Oak & Star Tavern

Oak & Star Tavern is perfect for celestial travelers of all ages who crave live music and aromatic barbecue. For dessert, the decadent Warm Sticky Cake is served warm with pecan-flavored ice cream. My favorite part about this dessert is that it’s just the right amount of sweetness and totally shareable. (Or don’t share. I won’t tell. You deserve it.)

The Bubbly Barrel

After you’ve worked up an appetite at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD by racing alongside Mario and visiting Princess Peach’s castle, make sure to make a stop in Donkey Kong Country. Specifically, head to The Bubbly Barrel for a refreshing ice cream fix with the DK Crush Float. This crave-worthy float features creamy banana-pineapple soft serve topped with caramel popcorn and toffee bits. It’s all served in a pineapple soda. Enjoy it in a waffle bowl or upgrade to the collectible Donkey Kong souvenir mug for a fun keepsake.
Bonus: Other Chilled Treats and Beverages

Yaknog at How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
Yaknog is a dessert beverage located at How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk’s quick-service location, Mead Hall. It’s a delicious malted chocolate and cinnamon drink that’s topped with whipped cream. This treat is the perfect balance between a decadent, cozy dessert and a refreshing drink for a hot summer’s day.

Frozen Butterbeer in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
There is a reason guests never stop talking about Butterbeer. There are many versions of Butterbeer available in wizarding Paris, but one of my most cherished is enjoying it frozen. The icy beverage tastes like butterscotch and shortbread, completed with a foamy topping. My favorite place to pick up this drink is the Bièraubeurre cart, conveniently located near the entrance of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.
PRO TIP: Café L’air De La Sirène offers a vegan and dairy-free Butterbeer!

Apple Melon Smoothie and Mango Smoothie in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
The Apple Melon and Mango Smoothies at Yoshi’s Snack Island at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD are both so good, I couldn’t tell you about just one of them!
The Mango Smoothie blends mango purée and syrup with milk into a creamy, frozen treat, finished with whipped cream, a drizzle of mango syrup, and diced mango for an extra burst of refreshment. The Apple Melon Smoothie mixes green apple and honeydew syrups into a frozen base, and is topped with whipped cream, honeydew drizzle, and a fresh mint sprig.
That’s a scoop of the frozen treat options waiting for you at Epic Universe. Share your own favorite dessert options from the theme park in the comments below.
