What’s better than a hotel with an incredible soundtrack? How about a hotel with an incredible soundtrack that is just steps away from Universal Orlando Resort? Hard Rock Hotel Orlando is anything but an ordinary hotel. I’ve talked about how much of a fan of Loews Portofino Bay Hotel I am, but as a huge music fan, I also absolutely love this hotel. Growing up, I took piano lessons, played the oboe in my middle school band, and my dad taught me how to play the guitar and play music by ear. Music just flows through my blood. I love the musical touches in this hotel — from memorabilia throughout the restaurants to drumsticks near the bathrooms inside the guest rooms. You can even measure your height compared to a handful of incredibly talented celebrities right inside your room.
One of my favorite memories from staying at this hotel involves its incredible pool. The pool has a long zero entry with some chairs in the sand and one of my favorite water slides. But my favorite part is the poolside games, live music and even music underwater. Most importantly, I won a hula hoop contest here back in 2009.
I mean, those shades though…
Besides amazing rooms and an awesome pool, this hotel has a great restaurant, The Kitchen. My favorite dish here is the Sustainable Salmon with Wild rice pilaf, poached asparagus, honey carrot emulsion, roasted red pepper pesto (I love salmon). But if I’m in the right mood, it’s the Macaroni and Cheese for me. Trust me, it’s amazing. Velvet Bar is another one of my favorite spots to hang out at with some incredible cocktails for those 21 and up, and you can’t go wrong with a cheese plate and a drink.
It’s so cool to see some of these hotels that I have so many memories of to now being able to make an entire show to showcase the incredible benefits of them all.
