Welcome to Dark Universe, where the night comes alive with your favorite classic monsters. Step into Darkmoor, the shadowy crossroads of living myths and the poorly planned science of monster makers. You will have the chance to come face to face with these legendary monsters and step into their stories, and you’ll also meet new characters along the way like Dr. Victoria Frankenstein. This world in Universal Epic Universe will feature new immersive experiences including attractions, restaurants, and shops. There is nothing more Universal than the Universal Monsters.
What to Ride in Dark Universe
Here are the new attractions coming to Dark Universe and everything you need to know about them! The first attraction is The Curse of the Werewolf. This will be a spinning-family coaster meant for the whole family to enjoy, and the free-spinning vehicle means no ride is the same twice. You will have close encounters with these werewolves like you’ve never experienced before.
The next attraction is Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. This attraction will be more than just a ride, but an experimental experience with Dr. Victoria Frankenstein as you travel down below Frankenstein Manor. There, you’ll meet the unleashed monsters you know and love. This attraction will be filled with incredible technology, animated figures we have never seen before, and an original soundtrack composed just for this attraction. You will not want to miss out on this attraction — I know I won’t!
Where to Eat in Dark Universe
Dark Universe will be home to two new unique and extraordinary restaurants: The Burning Blade Tavern and Das Stakehaus. These two restaurants share the dark and eerie tone of Darkmoor.
In The Burning Blade Tavern, when you hear the bell tower ring, it’s an indicator monsters are among us. This will be followed by the lighting of the blades that will happen multiple times throughout your day in Dark Universe. (Tune in to our new episode below to learn more!) You will dine with Monster Hunters known as the Hounds who display their trophies around the tavern and treat you to tall tales about Darkmoor.
Das Steakhouse is the old dining hall that will sit in the middle of the Darkmoor Courtyard. You will be immersed in the dark and violent culture of Dracula and his vampires. As you dine, you’ll learn about the kingdom of vampires through the art around the restaurant.
Where to Shop in Dark Universe
As you experience Dark Universe, you’ll want to take a part of it home with you. There are two main merchandise locations you don’t want to miss: Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities and Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience.
Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities will be Darkmoor’s main merchandise venue. In this shop, you will meet the brilliant and well-traveled Dr. Septimus Pretorius and his tiniest monster creations, Homunculi. This shop serves as a museum of Darkmoor filled with trinkets. Younger guests will be thrilled to meet the cute and strange Homunculi in Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities.
Another experience you don’t want to miss will take place in Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience. This is the ultimate monster makeup and temporary tattoo experience. The makeup and tattoo artisans will use their deep connection and love for the Universal Monsters to help you turn into one.
