First things first: Wands! You wouldn’t want to explore the wizarding world without your wand at the ready. And where else would one go if not Ollivanders Wand Shop? Looking for a specific wand? Ask one of the shop keepers to help you personalize your wand experience. You can also shop character wands, including those of Albus Dumbledore, Bellatrix Lestrange, and more. Just remember: the wand chooses the wizard!
Next up: Hogwarts house robes. Every Hogwarts student wears those iconic black robes with their house crest on their chest. And don’t be fooled, I find they’re surprisingly breezy, even under the bright sun! But if you want to flaunt your Hogwarts house pride in brighter colors, get your hands on a Hogwarts house T-shirt. There are lots of styles to choose from for Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. And if you’re into sports, you’ll definitely need a Quidditch Kit — including shirts specialized by Hogwarts house, Quidditch position, and even captain status.
FOR THE LITTLEST WITCHES AND WIZARDS
The “Harry Potter” films are chock-full of magical creatures, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood is no different. There are plushies galore available for purchase, including Gryffindor Lions, Fang the Boarhound, Unicorns, Pygmy Puffs, Mandrakes — the list goes on. There’s a particularly wide selection at Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods. And if you want a multiutility pet, snag a plush version of The Monster Book of Monsters, which has to be one of the softest, scariest notebooks we’ve ever seen.

So you have the robes, you have the wand, but you want to really feel like you’re inside the wizarding world? Respect. If you’re looking to add new items to your collection of “Harry Potter” memorabilia, you’re in the right place! Shop around Hogsmeade village for a light-up Sword of Gryffindor; your very own Light Up Broom; and, my personal favorite, the Marauder’s Map.
FOR THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL CROWD
Just because you don’t technically attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry doesn’t mean you can’t pretend you do. If you’re not trying to wear robes to school, the Hogwarts Crest Zip-Up Hoodie works as a great substitute. There’s practical Wizarding World merch to score, too. INSIDE THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER
Ollivanders Wand Shop. It’s where the wand chooses the wizard, of course! Ask one of the shop keepers to help personalize your wand experience. Or, you can shop character wands that resonate with you.
Gladrags Wizardwear. This clothing emporium is packed with all kinds of wizarding garb, including Hogwarts house robes, Quidditch team shirts, formalwear, and much more.
Honeydukes. Harry and Ron nearly lose their minds when they first experience this candy shop in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.”And you might, too. Here, you can buy Harry’s favorite sweets, including Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans, Chocolate Frogs, and much more.
Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods. This shop has gear every Hogwarts student needs, from house shirts to the Marauder’s Map to plush Hippogriffs. It’s situated inside Hogwarts castle itself, right at the end of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.
Hogsmeade Station. You might miss this little shop if you’re not looking closely — it’s just next to the Hogwarts Express, right when you walk in the land. Fittingly, this store sells trinkets based on the Hogwarts Express, Platform 9 ¾, and Hogsmeade. (Including some very cute, vintage-looking Hogsmeade tourism posters.)
PRO TIP: You can cast spells at many of the storefronts in Hogsmeade. You’ll just need your own Interactive Wand to do so. If you don’t have your wand yet, stop by Ollivanders to get in on the magic.
OUTSIDE THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER
Universal Studio Store (Upper Lot). This gigantic shop sells souvenirs inspired by pretty much everything at Universal, including a large section designated to Harry Potter. If you want to do all your Universal shopping at once, this is a great option.
Universal Studio Store (CityWalk). Next time you swing by CityWalk for dinner and a movie, knock out all your holiday shopping for the Harry Potter fans in your life.
