Without further ado, here is the complete guide to everything you need to know about where to get wands and how to cast spells in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Wand Offerings
As we all know, a wand is an essential item for every aspiring witch and wizard. Here, you can find the wand replicas of favorite characters from the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” films, plus interactive versions of those character wands as well as interactive Ollivanders wands, both of which allow you to cast spells throughout all three lands of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
You can find the interactive wand versions of characters like Albus Dumbledore, Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood, the Weasley twins, and so many more, including, of course, Harry Potter.
In addition, there are wands that aren’t interactive, but are a certain complement for any collection. I personally have been eyeing that replica of Hagrid’s pink umbrella.
Interactive Wands
With a wave of your wand, interactive wands allow you to cast spells in dozens of spell locations in Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and wizarding Paris! All interactive wands come with a physical map of all the interactive spell-casting locations where you can use your wand.
Second Generation Interactive Wands
Second Generation Interactive Wands offer an elevated spell-casting experience with extra effects such as illumination and haptic vibrations custom to each spell.
With these wands, guests can see and feel the results of their spell-casting in new ways and unlock additional spellcasting locations throughout the lands.
Additionally, with Universal Play in the Universal Orlando Resort App, you can unlock even more magic in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter through your Second Generation Interactive Wand. You’ll be able to customize your journey and access a digital map of the wizarding world that will help you navigate all three lands to find spell-casting and adventure locations.

The Ollivanders Experience
Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to walk into Ollivanders and be paired with your own wand? Now you can with the interactive wand experience at Ollivanders wand shop in Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida.
If you’re looking for a show, step into the front of the cozy store, filled floor to ceiling with wands, and you’ll soon be greeted by the Ollivanders’ wandkeeper. A witch or wizard will be selected (if you’re lucky it may just be you!) for an interactive moment where the perfect wand will choose them.
Once the wand chooses the wizard, you’ll head into the adjoining shop and have the opportunity to purchase any wand available in the shop. If you’d like help choosing (or, rather, being chosen), ask any wandkeeper for assistance ensuring you find either your favorite character wand or a unique wand suited just for you.
Find Your Perfect Wand with Cosme Acajor
Inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe, you might find wandmaker Cosme Acajor drifting gracefully through her enchanting shop, Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique. Inside, rows of exquisitely crafted wands await, each one inspired by beloved characters and brimming with its own story waiting to be uncovered.
There’s no wrong wand to choose, but if you’re lucky enough to cross paths with Madame Acajor herself, she may help you discover the perfect wand for your wizarding journey.
Tips on Casting Spells
Inside your interactive wand box, you’ll find a double-sided map that comes with everything you need to know about locating wand magic locations within all of the lands of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Once you arrive at the proper location, a gold medallion shows wizards and witches where to stand as well as the name and correct wand movement for each spell.
Here are some tips to ensure that you cast your spells in a way that would make Hermione Granger proud.
- Ensure you’re facing the proper direction that the gold medallion directs, and your wand is pointed that direction, too.
- Keep your motion short and concise, and try to keep it all in the wrist, rather than using your entire arm and making big gestures.
- Make sure to proudly and precisely say the spell out loud.
- Don’t fret if you don’t get the spell down on your first try. With a little practice and determination, you’ll get it in no time.
- If you ever have issues with your wand, make sure to take it to Ollivanders or Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique and they’ll be able to assist you!
