Cowabunga, dude! Today we’re diving (pun intended) into one of my favorite places in Universal CityWalk, Red Coconut Club. This venue is what you get when you cross glamour with a tiki-chic aesthetic and a “life’s a beach” attitude. It surfs up a tiki-chic night out to all who come seeking in the heart of Universal CityWalk.

About Red Coconut Club
Located on the second level of Universal CityWalk, Red Coconut Club features a lively dance floor on the first story and a more intimate upstairs lounge on the second story, perfect for a conversation and a break from the excitement.
My personal favorite part of the venue is the outdoor patio that offers the most stunning view of CityWalk at night. It’s the perfect place to take a breather and before heading back to the dance floor!
Red Coconut Club is generally open to all ages, with the exception of being 18+ during Love is Universal Nights.
Seasonal Overlays
Red Coconut Club’s sensational theming is my favorite part about it. Throughout the year, it is transformed for each of Universal’s seasonal celebrations. Let’s walk through all of them!
Cursed Coconut Club (during Universal Mardi Gras)
During Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval at Universal Studios Florida, Red Coconut Club becomes Cursed Coconut Club, paying homage to the carnival season. Here, the bayou meets a cursed atmosphere. On both levels of the venue, you’re likely to find Mardi Gras-inspired decor and upstairs, with the exact theme changing yearly. Taste the themed mocktails and cocktails, revel in the masquerade, and dance the night away!

Re(d)tro Nights (during Summer)
On select nights during the summertime, Re(d)tro Nights takes over Red Coconut Club with an 80s and 90s inspired theme. Here, you can jive to throwback hits on a dance floor lit by neon lights and disco balls.
Make sure to stop by the second floor to play arcade games and capture the moment with the retro photo booth! You’ll also want to keep an eye out for nostalgic Easter eggs all throughout the venue.

Love is Universal Nights (during June)
Is June your favorite month? Do you like to dance the night away lit by fluorescent lights in colors of R.O.Y.G.B.I.V? Then you’ll love Love is Universal Nights at Red Coconut Club!
At this Pride Month celebration running on select nights throughout June, you can dance to a festive playlist, be mesmerized by special effects and decorations, and pose with eleven Universal stilt walkers in the colors of the Progressive Pride Flag.
Love is Universal Nights is an 18+ event and you will need a valid form of ID to get in. However, Pride celebrations spill over outside the venue, where all ages can enjoy the festivities, including dancing to the same music and posing with the stilt walkers!

Dead Coconut Club (during Universal Halloween Horror Nights)
If you’re anything like me, you fervently believe that Halloween is the world’s best holiday. Luckily for those of us with that (correct) opinion, Dead Coconut Club is the club’s seasonal incarnation of the holiday, offered on select nights during the Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) season. Guests can mingle, dance, and soak in the spooky atmosphere as Dead Coconut Club debuts a fresh — yet equally festive — theme each year. For example, in 2025, the venue embraced a witch sorority theme for a potion of wicked fun.

Green & Red Coconut Club (during the Holidays at Universal)
During the Holidays at Universal, you can participate in the merry makeover of the venue at Green & Red Coconut Club. It’s all of the jubilant holiday joy with none of the snow! You’ll be dazzled by twinkling lights, merry decorations, and pepperminty cocktails. Here, the whole family can dance to favorite holiday songs, play board games, and enjoy cozy and bright decor.
