Vacation Planning Information
Machiavellian matters may be the Frankenstein family business, but there are still a few requirements before you can begin your journey on Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.
First of all, keep in mind that this is an approximately five-and-a-half minute thrilling motion-simulation ride that features erratic movements as you ride. There are four seats per vehicle, and all guests must be 48 inches or taller. Don’t fret if your aspiring monster hunter isn’t quite tall enough yet, because Child Swap is available so that the adults can take turns braving the twists and turns of the manor.
Large bags or loose items will need to be stored in a locker, which are complimentary and located inside of the queue. If you have questions about ride requirements or what you can bring with you on your visit to Frankenstein Manor, the lab techs inside and outside the queue can assist you.
The Details
As you cross the bridge and head into the heavy chill of Frankenstein Manor, the corridor gives way to a secret passage. Overhead, the haunting words “Who’s the true monster?” flash above you. In your detour through the courtyard garden, greenery twists around forgotten relics that reveal secrets about Victoria’s experiments. Nearby, several weathered epitaphs stand as warnings about the family history.
As you reenter the manor from the courtyard, a grand, foreboding portrait of Henry Frankenstein dominates a wall. In the fireplace, you may discover a newspaper lit aflame with certain choice thoughts surrounding Victoria’s presence in Darkmoor.
Wooden crates splinter across the floorboards, defaced with scribbled notes written by Victoria’s assistant, Ygor. A large glass container of grotesque monster organs appears. Touch it, if you dare. Before departing, cast your eyes upward for a view of a sprawling, disturbing mural that stretches across the entire ceiling.
The air turns sterile in the next chamber. A familiar, stitched-up corpse lies pinned between humming machinery. The walls are papered with anatomical sketches and other studies of the monster’s anatomy.
Then, you wind into a grand hall lined with more unsettling portraits before you spill into a projection room. You encounter one final portrait — this time, of Victoria — before you’re greeted by a buzzing Ygor. Finally, you stumble upon Victoria and confront her latest experiment, where things begin to backfire.
The Ride Experience
After you witness Victoria lose control of her experiment, lab techs will assist you in boarding a robotic arm to flee Frankenstein Manor. The Monsters Unchained attraction experience is a motion-simulation, multidirectional dark ride that takes you through the catacombs underneath Frankenstein Manor.
