Hang Out in Studio 6B
Arrive in the Studio 6B Club in style, and enjoy a live performance from the Ragtime Gals barbershop quartet, or check out some of the show’s classic bits, from History of Rap to Lip Sync Battle. You’ll also have the chance to meet and dance with the beloved “Tonight Show” mascot, Hashtag the Panda.

Ever dream of sending your own personalized “Tonight Show” Thank You Note? You’re in luck! You can play host at your own Interactive Desk in the Studio 6B Club. Here, you’ll be able to send Jimmy Fallon’s famous Thank You Notes to your friends and family, prep for your race with a ‘Jimmy Drive’ retro-style video game, and watch your favorite show clips.

Step into 30 Rock and then it's off to the races with Jimmy Fallon.

Get Ready for a Wild Ride
After a briefing in the Studio 6B Lobby, you’ll board a unique flying theater, which seats up to 72 audience members, for a rousing race alongside Jimmy Fallon through the greatest city in the world, New York.

From 30 Rock out into the streets (and the skies!) of The Big Apple, you and your fellow studio audience members will zoom past iconic New York City landmarks in an action-packed race with plenty of twists and turns along the way.

Be sure to keep an eye out for cameos from familiar characters like Sara from “Ew,” Jimmy in “Tight Pants,” and “Tonight Show” announcer Steve Higgins. All the sweet sounds of New York will come to life with the help of the Grammy award-winning band, The Roots, the musical masterminds behind the original attraction score

Step into the History
As you step foot into the renowned NBC Studios, you’ll get a front row seat to witness the most significant moments in the history of NBC as you travel through the 62-year evolution of “The Tonight Show.”

Making your way through “The Tonight Show” lobby, you’ll also get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see real set pieces from one of the longest-running shows in television history. You’ll see everything from suits of past hosts, to iconic desk props, to NBC video cameras used to record the show, all surrounding a display honoring the current host, Jimmy Fallon.

Disappointing. Was hoping for something new and original, not more screens. Sounds like “Soaring” New York.

So how would they make a non screen ride with .63 of an acre to play with ?

How else could they have used their small property though?

Funny thing is when Soarin was announced, people thought how boring it would be to fly in front of a movie screen. How wrong they were. This is the first flying theater the release says which says it is probably different than Soarin. Even if it isn’t, similar ride systems have been installed in parks all over the world. People say they want new and original, but have no idea what new and original should be. Give it a chance before you knock it…

You should have a meet and greet with sara and step dad gary

that must have been some work out Jimmy, Congrats to making it to Universal.

Eh another simulator type ride.. i understand you are releasing a new ride every summer but whats the point if they all using the same indoor motion simulation system?

  • Reply Snow Schwartz November 1, 2016 at 6:23 pm

Another “screen” “ride.” I was hoping for more. Universal has the potential to be something truly unique, but this doesn’t sound very unique to me. I want to feel wind on my face as a vehicle speeds through a New York backdrop. Forget the 3D glasses and give me real prop pieces and moving animatronics. I enjoy the theatre “rides” such as Terminator, Shrek, and Minions, but Universal does not need any more rides that lack real movement. Still, I’ll check it out. Maybe I’ll be surprised and the ride will be more exciting than this description makes it seem. For now, my two favorite non-rollercoaster rides remain E.T. because it is real (no screens needed and lovely sets and characters) and Harry Potter’s Forbidden Journey (truly unique, all seats face out so there is never a head in my way, no 3D glasses needed, plenty of motion, a fun story line).

What did you expect them to build with such little space?

  • Reply Kyle November 1, 2016 at 6:59 pm

I’m over these “simulators” give us something more thrilling!

  • Reply Andre DeVine November 1, 2016 at 8:12 pm

Sounds like the ride experience will be similar to The Minions ride. I’d really like to see Universal step it up and make new attractions that don’t rely so heavily on this screen trend. My favorite attraction remains The Mummy even after the introduction of all these innovative new attractions over the past years.

  • Reply George November 1, 2016 at 9:28 pm

    Another screen based attraction. Sigh.

  • Reply Natasha November 1, 2016 at 8:42 pm

So I get to sour though a talk show and New York?! Not to exciting and jimmy Fallon is not that interesting.

  • Reply Cynthia Hoeksema November 1, 2016 at 10:08 pm

Sounds cool!!! Can’t wait to check it out!!! Congratulations!!!!

  • Reply Amanda Hugginkiss November 1, 2016 at 10:38 pm

I wonder if there will be any reference to Conan.

  • Reply Ryan November 1, 2016 at 11:05 pm

Glad to see Universal went with recreating Rockefeller Plaza, it really fits the New York area in the park.
Looks a lot nicer then the faux soundstage design Twister had.
Who knows, with Nintendo coming soon. Maybe Universal can recreate the Rockefeller Plaza Nintendo World store?

I have been a long time fan, supporter of Jimmy Falcon, He rocks!
Going back to his earlier career with Saturday Night Live and now with the Tonight Show, it only gets better, “Thank you, Jimmy for the new “today” bringing the tonight show to a different level. We loved Jay, but times have changed and you are nailing it! The “Roots” are excellent, awesome talent!

I hope to meet you one day, maybe a meet and greet, even better. I live in Florida and only get the opportunity to visit Orlando once a year, during Halloween Horror Nights. So my chances are slim. Always hold hope. Now that “Race through New York” is coming to the park is going to get wild and fun crazy.

Jimmy, I’m so happy for you and your family. This is a dream come true. Did you ever think 10 years ago you would be hosting “The Tonight Show” and having your signature Ride at Universal Studios??? U are big time now, but you never loose your style. Always goofing around, dancing, singing, best guests on your show, love that you bring back something for everyone every night!

    Best of luck….

    wow , really

  • Reply Melissa Rice November 2, 2016 at 3:39 pm

Sounds like another ride in front of a screen. The overuse of screens at Universal is why we won’t be renewing our passes.

  • Reply PBSarasota November 2, 2016 at 4:16 pm

    So another minions ride?

  • Reply Make Universal Great Again November 3, 2016 at 1:07 am

The real test will be to see if Universal can finally figure out how to tell a story again. I mean, I know it’s not Disney, but come on! Skull Island had so much potential, but Universal Creative proved once again that they can’t tell a good story to save their lives. The setup was great, but after that everything went downhill fast. I mostly blame this on the climax scene that was cloned from Hollywood which was the biggest disappointment of the ride. If you’re going to insist on repeatedly using video projection effects on every single ride in the dang park (which has gotten very old and tired) at least learn how to tell a cohesive and interesting story. Physical props, sets, and special effects are more realistic and immersive than anything a dumb projector can accomplish. They’re what Universal Studios was founded on. Many of my favorite attractions use such things with only Spiderman being a notable exception. Think back to the days when a guide took you up close and personal with Jaws or past a giant ape terrorizing New York City on Kongfrontation. Animatronics, physical sets, real fire and special effects, and a live guide made these two of the most memorable and most missed attractions Universal Parks have ever featured and nothing has ever matched their ability to immerse guests in the movie.

I seriously agree. I’m glad someone else is disappointed they have “reimagined” some of their best rides. Kong was great and I miss Jaws.

  • Reply Mahalo Mike November 3, 2016 at 9:30 am

This sounds like a lot of fun! Can you share more info on the type of ride system?

I’m at the edge of my seat. My two grandson’s are keeping up with updates and are looking forward to the ride. We are annual pass holders and will check into any of the hotels on the grounds.
Please keep me updated and if there are any contests or offers for opening day I’ll enter them and hopefully make this day for them and of course for me.

  • Reply Sherri Stones November 9, 2016 at 12:40 pm

This will be brilliant! I can’t wait to be a part of this. As an annual passholder, I’m just perplexed which Jimmy character I’ll turn up in for my first visit. I need to call JT. He should be my date. Yes…that’s what I’ll do and we’ll come as old school rappers. Thank you, Universal!

  • Reply Claudio November 30, 2016 at 3:28 pm

I know you said “next spring”. I’ll be there next april for Star Wars Celebration. It will be open then?

Please tell me this will be ready by March 26. I’m guessing this is going in where the Terminator show used to be. Hopefully it won’t take too long to get put together.
