Details Revealed About Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

May 13, 2014

Want more details about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Diagon Alley? I’ve got the inside scoop on Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts – the amazing new ride coming to this incredible new land!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley will bring even more of Harry Potter’s adventures to life – this time at Universal Studios Florida! Follow in Harry’s footsteps as you pass through the brick wall from London into the bustling, wizarding hub of Diagon Alley.

You can shop at Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, enjoy a sweet treat at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour or even brave the dark corners of Knockturn Alley. You can find Puking Pastilles at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, find a new furry, feathered or scaly friend at Magical Menagerie or hop aboard the Hogwarts Express to continue your adventures in Hogsmeade village.

And at the far end of Diagon Alley is Gringotts bank, with a larger-than-life dragon towering over it that breathes real fire. The bank is home to the signature attraction, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.

In “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2,” there’s a pivotal scene where Harry, Ron and Hermione break into Gringotts bank to steal a powerful Horcrux that (spoiler alert!) will help them defeat Lord Voldemort. On Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, you’ll encounter the trio during this quest – but expect to meet some dangerous creatures and malicious villains as well!

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts has everything you could possibly imagine and more – it’s a mind-blowing next generation thrill ride through the Gringotts vaults. It combines 4K high-definition ride animation and 3-D technology with live special effects to propel you into the action of the Harry Potter books and films.

For a sneak peek at the action, check out this video featuring some of the creative minds that are bringing this attraction to life. We’ve also captured some photos inside Gringotts bank and taken screen grabs from the HD ride animation to give you a first look.

Get ready for the ride of your life.

Super excited to have the ride of our lives at #FamilyForward especially exciting to explore #DiagonAlley and the dangerous Knockturn Alley. Harry wished he’d had 8 eyes when first exploring #DiagonAlley – we are ready with our Muggle cameras to take it all in!

I’m very happy that the height requirement is shorter. Now my youngest will get to ride. It will still be a few years before he is tall enough for Forbidden Journey. I think all of Diagon Alley will be amazing.

This looks just amazing, but i thought you were going to reveal the opening date today. This is taking so long, I am starting to worry that this ride is not gonna be ready when i visit Universal on June.

This looks amazing! Really looking forward to coming down this summer but its looking less and less likely the summer will happen because of no opening date announcement. I need to give enough notice for work during our busy summer months. I don’t want to come down on a date based on rumored opening time frames. Would be really upset if I spent all the money to travel down to Universal only to find out its not open yet! Is an opening date going to be announced soon?!?!

I see a couple folks are asking about a date for grand opening. We’ll be announcing it later, but right now we wanted to share the new ride details with everyone as soon as we could. It’s unlike anything we’ve ever created, and I can’t wait for everyone (including me!) to experience it.

Will there be switchbacks in the room with the Goblins or will it be wide open like it is in the photos?

Would you be able to share with us whether we could expect Diagon Alley Express Pass to be up and running any time in 2014, or could it be 2015 or beyond?

  • Reply Donna June 3, 2014 at 9:25 pm

Went to Universal last month, were on line for the ride and my Autistic son seen the pictures of the ride on the wall, and started to get scared because it looked like a roller coaster, and we went to the exit.. Would he be scared of this ride if we went back and tried to ride it ? It kinda looks like the Pirates at WDW, any advice…
