THE STORY | THE QUEUE | THE RIDE | YELLOW VS. GREEN

The Story of Stardust Racers

Long, long ago, the Celestians of Celestial Park would use Stardust Racers as a comet launch point to help them travel from one world to the next. But one day, the Chronos opened portals, which offered an easier way to travel intergalactically.

Not wanting their work to go to waste, the Chronocosmic Engineers developed a system that contained the comets for recreational use. Ah yes, the age-old problem of, “What do I do with my leftover comets?” The answer, of course, is that you race them against your friends and foes!

If you’re wondering how the Chronocosmic Engineers figured out how to stabilize the comets for racing, they had a little help from a certain doctor that happened to travel through their corner of the universe. He offered his technology to the Celestians — and your ride vehicle offers a hint about this doctor’s identity!

Stardust Racers Queue

When you approach Stardust Racers, don’t blink — you might just miss the whirring comet blasting past you. You’ll enter under a gate into a beautiful outdoor queue with annular lines and cosmic adornments.

Before any good space cadet gets to blast off into the galaxy, there are a few logistical maneuvers to master. For instance, to ensure you’re ready to ride, you can find test seats for Stardust Racers at the entrance.

This expedition requires all riders to be at least 48 inches tall, but don’t worry if your youngest crew members aren’t quite there yet; Child Swap is available so that the adults can still take turns racing through the stars.

Complimentary lockers are located about halfway through the queue. It’s worth noticing that Stardust Racers has a locker policy, so all of your belongings must be safely stowed before you board the ride.

Once you’re back on the ground in Celestial Park and done collecting your belongings, head to the photo station to grab your attraction photo. Trust me, you’ll want this picture; it’s the ultimate souvenir to document your cosmo-flying adrenaline rush (and if you’re anything like me, your “just-hit-62-mph” hair).

PRO TIP: If you’re a solo traveler, Stardust Racers often has a Single Rider line option open at the front of the queue.

Stardust Racers Ride Experience

Stardust Racers is a thrilling, 90-second, dual-launch rollercoaster experience where you compete with the other track. After choosing between the Yellow and Green sides in the queue, you’ll blast off in a high-stakes race on your chosen comet. The dual-launch race through the stars has an impressive top speed of 62 mph and 5,000 feet of track on both sides.

Stardust Racers features an iconic maneuver on both tracks: the Celestial Spin. It sends the two comets into a synchronized and gravity-defying crisscross. This moment, combined with onboard audio and a ride that emits a brilliant starlight-esque glow from every side, makes you feel like a streak of light tearing your way through the cosmos.

PRO TIP: Because of the lights on the attraction and all around Celestial Park, riding Stardust Racers at nighttime is a can’t-miss experience!

Yellow vs. Green on Stardust Racers

The most unique part of Stardust Racers is that there’s two track sides: Yellow and Green. The first question that most people ask when preparing to ride Stardust Racers is: “Which side is better?”

Well, I am bearing the good news that both sides are phenomenal. I would highly recommend trying both sides, because no matter which side you pick, you’ll walk off the ride wanting to go again when you come back to Epic Universe.

What is the difference between the two, though? Many guests say that the Yellow side feels a little less intense than the Green side, but that the Green side feels smoother. The Green track also features a more dynamic rotation during the Celestial Spin. Overall, you can’t go wrong when picking a comet to race through the cosmos!
